Google Tasman Campus Exterior Wayfinding System
In the heart of Sunnyvale, California, the Google Tasman Campus proudly stands as a hub of innovation. This remarkable campus consists of three distinctive buildings, each with its own unique character. Our project aimed to enhance the user experience by crafting an exceptional exterior wayfinding system. This comprehensive system encompassed directories, vehicle directionals, and destination ID's, offering a seamless navigation experience for everyone on campus.
Goal: Mission: Transform the user experience at the Google Tasman Campus with a functional, aesthetic, and future-proofed exterior wayfinding system.
Themed Signage
Our design approach paid homage to Google's brand identity by incorporating themed signage that utilized the brand's distinct colors. Beyond aesthetic appeal, this design element played a pivotal role in identifying the three unique buildings on campus. It was an eloquent blend of aesthetics and functionality.
Campus Ride-Share Solutions
The Tasman Campus presented its share of challenges. One such challenge was creating logical pathways for Google Bus systems and establishing designated ride-share pickup and drop-off points. Through innovation, creativity, and problem-solving, our team successfully addressed these challenges, contributing to a smoothly functioning campus.
Inclusive & Future Proof Design
In the spirit of inclusivity, our team put a strong emphasis on ensuring that the exterior directories were accessible to all users. This involved careful consideration of various user needs, aligning perfectly with Google's commitment to accessibility and inclusivity. The result is a wayfinding system that caters to a diverse range of users, including those with disabilities.
Understanding the ever-evolving nature of Google's operations and the campus's growth, we took a forward-thinking approach. The directories are designed with removable glass panels, allowing for easy updates over time. This adaptability ensures the wayfinding system remains effective and relevant as the campus continues to evolve.
Monument Signage and
Adaptive Reuse
In addition to the wayfinding system, our team designed distinctive monument signage for the three campus buildings to enhance their street visibility. One notable achievement was the transformation of an existing marble structure, requiring meticulous attention to detail for seamless integration with the overall signage scheme.
Conclusion
The Google Tasman Campus now features an advanced exterior wayfinding system for seamless navigation. Themed signage enhances aesthetics and quick building identification. Innovative solutions addressed challenges with transportation and inclusivity, and adaptable directories ensure long-term relevance.
